Insurance
Through the Fire Counseling strives to make quality mental health care accessible and affordable. Therefore, we continue to expand the number of insurance plans we accept. We currently participate in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, including BlueCare, Behavioral Health Comprehensive Networks, BlueCare Plus, TennCare Select, BH Complete Commercial, Oscar Health Plan, Tennessee Exchange, and UBH General. In addition, we also accept Cigna, Aetna, and Wellpoint.
Furthermore, Through the Fire Counseling serves as an authorized provider for TRICARE East. We are also working to complete additional credentialing with TRICARE East and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.
Because every insurance plan offers different behavioral health benefits, we encourage clients to contact their insurance provider before scheduling an appointment. This step helps confirm eligibility, copayments, deductibles, referrals, and preauthorization requirements.
As we continue to grow our insurance network participation, clients will gain even greater flexibility and access to counseling services through their insurance benefits.
Private Pay Rates
For clients who prefer not to use insurance or do not have coverage, we offer the following private pay rates:
- Individual Sessions (50 minutes): $125
- Couples Sessions (50 minutes): $150
Additionally, these rates are fully transparent upfront so clients can make informed decisions about their counseling services.
Sliding Scale Fees
We offer a limited number of reduced-fee appointments, so we encourage clients to reach out early. These reduced fees are based on annual household income and household size, making counseling more accessible for everyone.

Please note: Sliding scale fees are calculated with household income and number of household members in mind. Pricing may vary by no more than two deviations from the base rates to ensure fairness and accessibility.
Additionally, these rates allow clients to receive quality care even when finances are limited.
Crossway Counseling – A Ministry Partnership
Crossway Counseling operates as a ministry partnership of Through the Fire Counseling, providing faith-integrated counseling services to individuals and families in Southern Middle Tennessee.
All licensed clinicians at Through the Fire Counseling deliver these services and follow the same clinical standards, confidentiality practices, and ethical guidelines.
In addition, this partnership creates a pathway for increased access to care. Through this model, qualifying individuals connected to Crossway Church may receive a reduced self-pay rate.
However, Through the Fire Counseling bills insurance when applicable and in accordance with provider agreements.
