We are now in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, including BlueCare, Behavioral Health Comprehensive Networks, BlueCare Plus, and TennCare Select plans.
Additionally, we are expanding our coverage options to better serve our clients. As part of this effort, in-network participation with Aetna will begin on April 17, 2026.
As a result, clients will have greater flexibility when using their insurance benefits for counseling services.
We currently accept the following insurance plans through Headway in Tennessee:
- Aetna
- Cigna
- Quest Behavioral Health
- Ascension (SmartHealth)
- Carelon Behavioral Health
Please note: coverage and benefits vary by plan. Therefore, we recommend contacting us before your first session so that we can help verify your benefits and ensure your insurance will cover your counseling services.
Private Pay Rates
For clients who prefer not to use insurance or do not have coverage, we offer the following private pay rates:
- Individual Sessions (50 minutes): $125
- Couples Sessions (50 minutes): $150
Additionally, these rates are fully transparent upfront so clients can make informed decisions about their counseling services.
Sliding Scale Fees
We offer a limited number of reduced-fee appointments, so we encourage clients to reach out early. These reduced fees are based on annual household income and household size, making counseling more accessible for everyone.

Please note: Sliding scale fees are calculated with household income and number of household members in mind. Pricing may vary by no more than two deviations from the base rates to ensure fairness and accessibility.
Additionally, these rates allow clients to receive quality care even when finances are limited.
Ministry-Based Sessions
If finances are a barrier to receiving care, we encourage you to reach out to discuss available options. In some cases, we offer ministry-based sessions for individuals experiencing significant financial hardship.
